I am so pleased and honored to have been re-elected to MVLA Board of Trustees!
I thank very profusely you all who donated funds, canvassed door-to-door with flyers, posted yard signs, endorsed me publicly on my website, emailed their friends/neighbors/colleagues and verbally encouraged people to vote for me. I appreciate your confidence and trust.
I will now work on the MVLA goals and my personal goals as stated here on my campaign website, at numerous forums, and as described in various news articles about the election. I am excited to get to know two new members elected to the board and hear their ideas and collaborate to do the work of the district.

Engage the community with equity and inclusion. Deliver excellent academic education. Support wellness of students, staff and families with all time and materials possible. Supervise financial and other assets. Lead implementation of new programs and future innovation to always improve and be better!
Why I am a candidate for MVLA High School Board
(I know this is a long list yet ALL important!)
- To serve ALL MVLA students helping them in achieving success in high school and in college or other chosen endeavor
- To serve ALL MVLA teachers and staff as they educate our youth
- To serve ALL parents as they support their children
- To serve the whole community in which our schools reside as a good neighbor.
- To serve as a good steward of the bond construction funds and other finances of MVLA
- To participate in pragmatic consensus building and problem solving in the governance of MVLA
- To particularly address learning loss many students have experienced since COVID-19 online learning.
- To particularly address the coodination of wellness services for our student between the classroom teacher, counseling, college and career services, social workers and licensed therapists.
- To continue to fully integrate equity in all activities.
- To particularly address the construction concerns presented by material shortages, and cost escalation.
- To participate in the innovation of new programs, alternative learning, more CTE and other course and education delivery offerings.
- To make sure our staff is up to date on the latest trends and best practices for academic content delivery as well as in recognition and support for student wellness struggles.
- To support the update of the MVLA website to have most current information as well as support other communications methods to all.
- Participate in development of "Graduate Profile" and updating equitable grading practices.
I believe in MVLA:
- In the excellent education that is being delivered to our students and the opportunity we are giving them to qualify for colleges and universities
- In the ongoing enhancement of our facilities and technologies to support student learning
- In supporting all students to succeed socially and emotionally as well as academically.
As a trustee now for 4 years I am experienced in the district governance.
As a retired software engineer, I am qualified to consider technologies used to support student learning and administrative efficiency.
As a former EMT and instructor of emergency skills, I am qualified to consider policy related to emergency preparedness and school safety.
My experiences in PTA leadership roles at all k-12 levels, School Site Council leadership, on district committees in MVWSD, MVLA and PTA Council and a former long time member of the MVLA Adult School Advisory Board (I had to drop this role as a trustee since it is a conflict of interest) have provided me with knowledge of school operations and concerns and challenges in providing an excellent education to students and support staff.
For this election MVLA Board of trustees 2022 I am an incumbent and two new trustees will come on board in any case since the other two imcumbents are retiring. I along with the still-in-office until 2024 trustees Phil Faillace and Sanjay Dave, will provide stability and continuity to continue activities we have initiated and continue to innovate for the benefit of our students.
